Empowering Young Minds in Cyber Security

At TechSpark Academy, we believe in shaping the future of technology by equipping young minds with essential digital skills. Cyber Security Weekend 2025 was a testament to this mission, as we welcomed 86 students aged 11-18 from across Switzerland to Google’s Zurich office for an intensive two-day learning experience. This event wasn’t just about education—it was about igniting curiosity, fostering problem-solving skills, and providing an inside look into the exciting world of cybersecurity.

Why Cyber Security Matters for the Next Generation

In today’s digital landscape, cybersecurity is more crucial than ever. Understanding how to protect personal data, recognize cyber threats, and think like ethical hackers are skills that will only grow in demand. The goal of Cyber Security Weekend was to make cybersecurity accessible, engaging, and inspiring for students at various levels of experience. Whether they were complete beginners or already tech-savvy, this weekend provided valuable exposure to:

  • Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions using platforms like TryHackMe and picoCTF.

  • AI-driven cybersecurity tools such as GandalfAI.

  • Ethical hacking techniques and best practices.

  • Cyber threats like deep fakes and phishing scams.

  • Potential career paths in cybersecurity and tech industries.
