Why learn about web design?

Web design enables students to articulate their creativity and ideas by crafting a visually engaging and functional website, nurturing technical and artistic skills.

What to expect from Web Design?

Students build a website on Wix.com, a multi-language platform for creating HTML5 websites and mobile sites.
Wix.com makes building websites easy with drag-and-drop editing
Interested students are guided to the use of Java Script to enhance and refine their websites.
Noteworthy: Building a website on Wix.com does not include purchase of a domain name and hosting site. The course allows students to build a website on Wix.com (which can be associated with a domain name and published later if desired)

What skills will my child acquire?

Students are guided through a four-phase approach to website creation, culminating in the a website built on Wix.com
- Phase 1 Discovery: Define website purpose, goals, and target audience
- Phase 2 Planning: Sitemap, website structure, and technologies used
- Phase 3 Design: Chose a visual style, work on usability, learn about user interface and use experience (UX/UI)
- Phase 4 Content: Text, photos, videos, SEO
In addition to working on Wix, interested students are guided to the use of Java Script to enhance and refine their websites.

How do I know which level is right for my child?

There are no specific prerequisites for this course.
Students learn in small groups and then apply the learning individually. Each student builds their own website project on Wix.com, with TechSpark Academy instructors coaching them.
Our Web Design course typically includes a couple of blocky on Java Script, participation to which is optional. For those not wishing to dive into the use of code, they can continue to refine their website on wix.com, a platform for creating HTML5 websites with drag and drop functions.
