On Digital Day 2019, over 150 participants explore computer code with TechSpark Academy in Zurich and Lausanne!
On September 7th & 8th TechSpark Academy joined Digital Switzerland to celebrate Swiss Digital Day 2019!
Our Digital Discovery Workshops welcomed over 150 partisipants from across Switzerland who assembled in Zurich and Lausanne. Ten workshops were hosted by TechSpark Academy Giving, our non-profit arm dedicated to closing the education gap by embracing our inevitably digital future.
Participants were introduced to a variety of topics from Game Design with Scratch (Juniors) to Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence (Teens and Adults). Thank you everyone for joining & supporting us – together we can inspire more of our youth to learn and create with technology!
A special thanks to Collège Champittet in Lausanne for hosting our western Switzerland workshops!

Artificial Intelligence Lab – Teens and Adults
Artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping our life and our livelihoods. It’s curating every screen, influencing decisions about shopping, hiring, our vacations and more. In this session we focused on Machine Learning, the most common type of AI, made possible by mind blowing advances in computing power and unbelievable vast amounts of data.
We reviewed today’s technologies, demystified AI, explored future impact, and looked at how we are preparing the next generation.
Junior Code Lab – Ages 6 -12
Inspiring young minds to learn and create with technology! This session was designed to introduce younger students to the fundamentals of programming, such as binary code or game design using interactive coding blocks. The event was also animated by lots of fun robotics adventures with Dash & Dot bots.
Cybersecurity Lab – Teens and Adults
During this workshop students explored the basics of python programming, cybersecurity fundamentals and launch their first brute-force attack on an encrypted ZIP archive.
